Handcrafted Mahogany & Oak Segmented Wooden Bowl
This Large Mahogany & Oak bowl took a week to glue up and was a fun turning on my lathe. This is one the largest bowls that I have made to date. The Mahogany wood came from an Amish saw mill in Salem AR.
This bowl was hand crafted and turned on my wood lathe.
Oak is a light to medium brown color. Sapwood can be very wide, and tends to be a beige or light brown and has a medium to coarse texture similar to oak. The grain is almost always straight and regular, though sometimes moderately curly or figured boards can be found.
Mahogany ranks among the finest cabinet woods. Exceptionally stable and clear with a natural luster. Moderately coarse texture and achieves a class smooth surface but accepts virtually all finishes with ease. Widely praised for its response to hand tools, power tools, and all woodworking procedures.
A large Mahogany & Oak – hand tuned, one-of-a-kind bowl suitable for offerings, display, dried herbs etc . . . Finish is satin hand rubbed and food safe.
Remember there is only one of this bowl making it a unique. No two pieces are the same. Each will have different grain patterns and colors.
